Review Policy:

Am I accepting review copies?

I'm happy to accept books for review, whether from authors or publishing companies (large or small, it doesn't matter). I do accept self-published books. I am currently accepting eBooks for review, seeing as it's a bit difficult to receive physical copies of books while studying abroad in Italy. Also, please don't send adult novels, or email me about sending a review copy of an adult novel, because I do not review adult novels, unless it is an adult novel that I picked up on my own volition.

Unfortunately, when it comes to books I can review, I need to be somewhat selective--I don't have enough time to read all of the books I am emailed requests for. Also, I'm not always able to respond to each individual email. If you do email me for information on receiving review copies, and I don't respond, please resend the email. It may take a few days for me to send a response, which is either due to email malfunctions, my inability to check my email, or an overload of school work, for which I apologize in advance. These things, unfortunately, do happen.

Simply Nerdy Book Reviews is mainly focused on Young Adult Fiction. I prefer the following genres:

-General Fiction
-Supernatural/Paranormal
-Science Fiction (Some, not all)
-Fantasy
-Romance
-Chick lit
-Mysteries/Thrillers

I stay away from:
- Memiors

- Biographies
- Non-fiction
- Novels with religious undertones/religion-based novels
All reviews include a synopsis*, my personal thoughts on the book, and cover art. And while I try my hardest to complete each book, sometimes books simply don't work, and I'll post a review on my opinion of what I read of the book, and why it didn't work for me.

*All summaries/synopses come from Goodreads.com, Amazon, or the publisher's website, unless there is no separate section for review, which means that I wrote the summary myself.

How long will it take?

I cannot guarantee a specific time frame in which I will review books I receive by mail, but it can take anywhere between 0-3 months. I generally push purchased books down on my list of books to read when I receive books, but I can't make any promises; I may have other books (received and purchased) that need to be read and reviewed beforehand.

And this is a big one here: please don't send me novels out of sequence. If I receive a book in the mail from a publishing company or author that is the second or third or fourth in a series, chances are I will email the publishing company or author inquiring about receiving the book's predecessors, or else the book will go way down on my list of books to read, because then I need to go out and buy the previous books myself. This means that it will take much longer for the book to be reviewed, so, once again, please don't send me books out of sequence.

All ARCs will be reviewed within a month of their release, if not sooner.
DISCLOSURE: All books I receive for review are from either the publisher or the author. I do not accept or receive monetary compensation for my reviews.

Giveaway Policy:

I participate in blog tours and host interviews, guest posts, and giveaways happily. If you are interested in having a givewaway, guest post, or interview on my blog, please contact me for more information. If I am unfamiliar with the author or the novel and cannot be sent a copy for review prior to the interview, post, or giveaway, I will most likely decline hosting.

All giveaways use Google Docs. Names, emails, and addresses will be kept hidden and private. Responses will not be shared unless otherwise stated. Giveaways are not scams; if you do enter, you do have a chance of winning.

Thank you for clearly stating your policy. Some book reviewers don't. Your clearly stated policy is appreciated.
